RNA vs DNA viral load?
I don't know anything when it comes to tracking the severity of your hepatitis B infection but I will just give you some background on what it's meaning by the RNA and DNA. The virus for hep B had double stranded DNA for it's genome (viruses can have either DNA or RNA for a genome) and RNA is what you get when the DNA undergoes a process called transcription. Transcription is pretty much the first step in decoding what protein a DNA sequence makes. RNA is needed to make the proteins needed to emble new Hep B viruses in the body. The viral load is pretty much tracking how much viral RNA was found in whatever kind of sample they took in your body. In general, the higher the viral RNA load, the more virus that was present. Hope this helps.
