Acids and bases question......................…
When you dissolve a compound such as hydrogen chloride in water, the compound ionises or dissociates forming H+ and Cl- ions forming a very corrosive, acidic solution or hydrochloric acid as it is known. Why exactly are the H+ ions corrosive? What causes H+ ions to be corrosive?
